Lucy Coschignano is the President and Chair of JobStart’s Board of Directors. Lucy has been an active member of JobStart’s Board since 2005. Lucy most recently held the position of Vice President, Service Excellence supporting national small business commercial insurance programs at Aon Risk Services, Inc. Previously, Lucy worked at GE Money as a Senior Business Development Manager for their credit card business. Lucy has spent the majority of her career in various capacities working in the financial services sector supporting small and medium sized enterprises for Chase Paymentech Canada, Scotiabank and Canada Trust. Lucy has an MBA in Finance and Marketing. She has many years of volunteer service experience having volunteered for the Red Cross, The Children’s Aid Society of Toronto, Big Brothers and Big Sisters and she is currently a volunteer on the Board of Directors of Volunteer Builders.

Jacqueline Esler is the Vice President of JobStart’s Board of Directors. Jacqueline joined the JobStart board in 2007. She is a lawyer who is interested in disability law, human rights and mental health advocacy. Jacqueline has many years of experience volunteering for Hospice Toronto.

Shane Silva joined JobStart's Board of Directors in June 2010 as the Treasurer of the Board and the Chair of the Finance Committee. He brings more than 15 years of experience in financial controllership, audit and governance functions from his professional career in Canada and the United States. Shane currently holds a senior controllership role within the Finance organization at General Electric Canada (“GE Canada”). At GE Canada, he also provides leadership on inclusiveness initiatives as the chair of the National Inclusion & Diversity Council. Prior to joining GE Canada, Shane held senior manager positions at KPMG’s Toronto office and at Ernst & Young’s Silicon Valley practice serving companies in technology and communications industries. Shane holds the Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in Ontario and the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license from Illinois. In addition to his involvement with Jobstart, Shane is also actively engaged in other community initiatives, including serving as a Board member at VON.

 
Christine Sibley joined JobStart’s Board of Directors on June 8 2011 and will assume the role of Secretary. Christine holds the position of Director, Human Resources for De Beers Canada Inc. and brings with her over 20 years of experience working in Human Resources. Her background includes managing a broad spectrum of Human Resource functions including: Compensation, Benefits, Labour/Employee Relations, Organizational Development, Recruitment, Selection, Talent Management and Succession Planning. Christine is a member of the HRPA and past board member of Catholic Settlement House-Day Nursery.

Jim Gilmour is the Past Treasurer of JobStart and was the Chair of the Finance Committee (2002 – 2010). Jim has been an active Board member since 2002. He was the Controller of The Leukemia & Lymphonia Society of Canada until 2010. He is a member of the CCAF (Canadian Comprehensive Auditing Foundation), a Canadian research and educational foundation dedicated to building both knowledge and capacity for meaningful accountability and effective governance.

Kathryn Minialoff joined the Board in 2004 and has served on the Finance Committee since 2002. Kathryn has her own accounting practice providing bookkeeping/accounting and personal tax services to a variety of companies. She was previously a senior manager with Deloitte in the small business area for 8 years.

Michelle Mittermair joined JobStart as a Board Member in 2006. She is a solutions and marketing expert and consults with Senior Partners and C level executives across Canada for most efficient litigation practices. Michelle has worked in numerous capacities, as product, marketing and communications manager plus has previously worked across the globe as Relationship Manager, in the Global Banking and Cash Management divisions, with both institutional and wealthy clients. Michelle likes to problem solve and has helped merge the banking operations of the largest financial merger in Canada at Manulife and on a smaller budget, launched a hedge fund.

Nicole Washington became a member of the Board of Directors of JobStart in March, 2008. She is a lawyer at Cassels Brock & Blackwell, practicing corporate law. Prior to practicing law, Nicole worked for many years in corporate finance at one of Canada's big banks. She has a Masters in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Rumina Ratansi, CHRP, joined JobStart as a Board Member in 2009. Rumina works with HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan) in management as an HR Business Partner. Rumina Ratansi has a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation and her Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) certification and is currently pursuing her Coaching accreditation (ACC). Rumina has over 15 years of HR experience. She has worked in a variety of industries, including telecommunications, film, broadcast and post production, securities regulation and most recently, pension. As a senior practitioner and leader, Rumina's expertise is in employee relations and coaching, conflict resolution, performance management, recruitment and selection, training and development and succession/talent planning.

Kate Nourbakhsh joined the JobStart board in May 2009. She has an MBA in Strategic Management and Marketing and is a software engineer with over 6 years of experience in software, telecommunications and finical service industries. She is currently working at TD Bank Financial Group. Kate is also a mentor for new immigrants supporting TRIEC (Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council), and actively volunteers for various charity events (Daily Bread, United Way, Dress Your Best, Schulich Women in Leadership, and Heart and Stroke Foundation).

Norman Woo joined JobStart as a Board Member in 2010. He is currently Director, Corporate Development for Manulife Financial Corporation. Previously he was a Senior Manager in the Transaction and Restructuring Advisory practice of KPMG LLP where he provided valuations, corporate finance and financial reporting services to public and private companies, as well as the public sector. Norman graduated from the University of Waterloo, where he completed both an Honours Bachelor of Mathematics and a Master of Accounting. Norman is a Chartered Accountant in Canada and a Certified Public Accountant in the U.S. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Business Valuator designations.

Sourabh Indu joined JobStart’s Board of Directors on June 8 2011. Sourabh has ten years experience leading Finance, Technology and Project/Business Management teams in financial services and insurance industries. He has achieved an MBA (with distinction) from Schulich School of Business with a focus on Finance and Strategic Management. Sourabh is currently Director, Business Effectiveness at CIBC in Toronto where he leads the Business Management Office for one of CIBC’s largest technology divisions.

James Edney is a Past President of JobStart (2000 to 2003) and was Secretary from 1995 to 2000. He is a Partner in the law firm of Blaney McMurtry LLP, a private practice in Toronto focused on civil litigation. Jim is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Advocates Society, Canadian Bar Association - Ontario and the Toronto Lawyer’s Association.

Lisa Myers was the Vice President of JobStart’s Board of Directors and was Secretary from 2000 to 2007. Lisa has been an active Board member since 1999. Lisa was a Career Transition Consultant with Knebel Watters & Associates and was formerly, Senior Human Resources Services Co-ordinator for Banca Commerciale Italiana of Canada, and Human Resources Co-ordinator at Marathon Realty Company Limited.

Dan Sibley is the Secretary of JobStart’s Board of Directors. Dan joined the JobStart Board in 2004. He holds the position of Vice President, Human Resources at the Canadian Diabetes Association. Dan has gained a wide range of HR experience in the broader Public Sector having worked in Child Welfare, Education and Municipal Government sectors. He has a Masters degree, two Bachelors degrees and Certificates in Personnel and Industrial Relations, ADR and OD.

Dan has a long history of volunteer work and giving back to the community. Dan lives in Etobicoke and is the proud father of six children.

Beno John is the Past President of JobStart’s Board of Directors (2005 to 2007), Chair of the IT Committee and serves on the Marketing and Strategic Planning Committees. He has been an active Board member since 2000 and is currently an independent IT Consultant. Previously he was IT Operations Manager for Protect Air Inc. and TicketMaster Canada. In addition to 30 years in IT management and policy development, he brings years of journalism, publishing and writing experience. Beno is also a former director and founding member of the MCF Multicultural Foundation and former Board member of the Edmonton Immigration Services Association.
