We do this by providing an integrated service delivery for job seekers and employers looking to hire. Our professional staff are here to help you prepare for and find work in your field if interest. JobStart has a range of services available at no cost to you

Employment Ontario programs and services are offered at JobStart’s 219 Dufferin St., Suite #1C location (King & Dufferin), and JobStart’s 2930 Lake Shore Blvd. W., location (corner of Islington Ave. and Lake Shore Blvd. W.) Employment Ontario programs and services are not offered at JobStart’s 41 Chauncey Ave. Location.

Eligibility:

Self-service information and resources – anyone, including people with jobs, those who are under-employed, people looking for work, students, apprentices, internationally trained individuals, employers. Prior to accessing the Resource Information Service clients need to meet with a JobStart staff member

Assisted services – (such as supported job search, job matching and placement, job retention services) – people who are unemployed and out of school. Meet with a JobStart Staff member who will help you identify your employment and training needs, determine and access components of the Employment Service which is appropriate, access services to government and community services outside of Employment Ontario and develop an Employment Service Plan.

Employers can help in identifying their human resources skill requirements, matching of position/workplace needs to participants’ skills, capabilities, interests and experience, and support for developing on-the-job training plans and monitoring of placements to support success and retention

Service description – Helps clients find

  • sustainable employment
  • assessment of skills, capabilities, interests and experience
  • job search strategies , including resume preparation
  • information about different careers and occupations, the local labour market, employment and training opportunities
  • on-the-job training and/or work experience and, in some cases, additional support to help maintain employment
  • information about all Employment Ontario programs and services
  • access to Second Career program to provide laid-off workers with skills training for high-demand occupations
  • information about, and referral to, other community services and support


Summer Jobs Service – students 15 to 30 years planning to return to school in the fall
