About Us
Lucy Coschignano has shown an impressive commitment to JobStart since 2005, culminating in the fact she is currently 'President of the Board of Directors'. She has an MBA in Finance and Marketing which has prepared her to excel in her career in the financial services and insurance brokerage industry, delivering services and solutions for small and medium sized enterprises.
Ms. Coschignano is currently Vice President, National Service for Affinity Business at Aon Steed Stenhouse. She has held several senior management positions prior to her current role, including positions in Business Development, at GE Money and National Sales/Call Centre Management as Vice President for Chase Paymentech and Scotia Bank.
Even with a busy career Lucy finds to time to make a difference in her community by volunteering. She has been active with the Red Cross, the Children's Aid Society of Toronto, as well as Big Brothers and Big Sisters. In addition to her commitment to JobStart, Ms. Coschignano is currently an active volunteer for Volunteer Builders, as a member of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors.
Jim Gilmour is the Treasurer of JobStart and is the Chair of the Finance Committee. He is currently the Controller of The Leukemia & Lymphonia Society of Canada. He is a member of the CCAF (Canadian Comprehensive Auditing Foundation), a Canadian research and educational foundation dedicated to building both knowledge and capacity for meaningful accountability and effective governance.
Dan Sibley is the Secretary of JobStart’s Board of Directors. Dan joined the JobStart Board in 2004. He holds the position of Vice President, Human Resources at the Canadian Diabetes Association. Dan has gained a wide range of HR experience in the broader Public Sector having worked in Child Welfare, Education and Municipal Government sectors. He has a Masters degree, two Bachelors degrees and Certificates in Personnel and Industrial Relations, ADR and OD.
Dan has a long history of volunteer work and giving back to the community. Currently he is a member of TRIEC’s “Circle of Champions” Mentoring Partnership Program which JobStart has taken a lead on for the city of Toronto. Dan lives in Etobicoke and is the proud father of six children.
Beno John the Past President of JobStart’s Board of Directors (2005 to 2007), Chair of the Technology Committee and serves on the Marketing and Strategic Planning Committees. He has been an active Board member since 2000 and is currently an Independent IT Consultant. Previously he was IT Operations Manager for Protect Air Inc and TicketMaster Canada. In addition to 20 years in IT management, he brings ten years of journalism, publishing and writing experience, five of which he served as the Editor of Prairie Link, a multicultural, bi-monthly newspaper. Beno was a former director and founding member of the MCF Multicultural Foundation and former Board member of the Edmonton Immigration Services Association.
Kathryn Minialoff joined the Board in 2004 and has served on the Finance Committee since 2002. Kathryn has her own accounting practice providing bookkeeping/accounting and personal tax services to a variety of companies. She was previously a senior manager with Deloitte in the small business area for 8 years.
Michelle Mittermair joined JobStart as a Board Member in 2006. Michelle has been immersed in the records management and eDiscovery business since 2005. She has had years of consultative and technical expertise as Senior Solutions Specialist - Litigation Services; Corporate & Institutional Cash Management Manager; and as Relationship Manager International Division of Fortune 500 corporations and international financial institutions. With over 20 years of experience combining business development, enterprise technology and marketing, she has built a solid foundation in total solutions consultative selling and project management. Michelle likes to problem solve and has helped merge the banking operations of the largest financial merger in Canada at Manulife and on a smaller budget, launched a hedge fund.
Jacqueline Esler is the Vice President of JobStart's Board of Directors. Jacqueline joined the Jobstart Board in May, 2007. She is a lawyer who is interested in disability law, human rights and mental health advocacy. Jacqueline has many years of experience volunteering for Hospice Toronto.

Rumina Ratansi, CHRP,
joined JobStart as a Board Member in 2009. Rumina works with the Ontario Securities Commission as a Senior Human Resources Officer. Rumina Ratansi has a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation and her Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) designation. Rumina has over 13 years of HR experience. She has worked in a variety of industries, including telecommunications, film, broadcast and post production, and most recently securities regulation. As a senior practitioner, Rumina expertise is in employee relations and coaching, conflict resolution, performance management, recruitment and selection, training and development and succession/talent planning.
Kate Nourbakhsh joined the JobStart board in May 2009. She has an MBA in Strategic Management and Marketing and is a software engineer with over 6 years of experience in software, telecommunications and finical service industries. She is currently working at TD Bank Financial Group. Kate is also a mentor for new immigrants supporting TRIEC (Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council), and actively volunteers for various charity events (Daily Bread, United Way, Dress Your Best, Schulich Women in Leadership, and Heart and Stroke Foundation).
Nicole Washington became a member of the board of directors of JobStart in March, 2008. She is a lawyer, practicing in the areas of corporate and securities law at Cassels Brock & Blackwell. Prior to practicing law, Nicole worked for many years in corporate finance at one of Canada's big banks. She has a Masters in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Honourary Board Member
James Edney is a Past President of JobStart (2000 to 2003) and was Secretary from 1995 to 2000. He is a Partner in the law firm of Blaney McMurtry LLP, a private practice in Toronto focused on civil litigation. Jim is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Advocates Society, Canadian Bar Association - Ontario and the Toronto Lawyer’s Association.
Lisa Myers is the Vice President of JobStart’s Board of Directors and was Secretary from 2000 to 2007. Lisa has been an active Board member since 1999. Lisa is a Career Transition Consultant with Knebel Watters & Associates and was formerly, Senior Human Resources Services Co-ordinator for Banca Commerciale Italiana of Canada, and Human Resources Co-ordinator at Marathon Realty Company Limited.
