2006 Minister’s Award of Excellence in Service Quality
JobStart recognized for its excellent employment services
Toronto, November 22, 2006 — On Monday November 20, 2006 Minister Chris Bentley, Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities presented JobStart with the 2006 Minister’s Award for Excellence in Service Quality - Silver Level for their organizational excellence and delivery of the Job Connect and Summer Jobs Service program.
This prestigious honour is awarded based on an agency demonstrating continuous improvement and excelling over three years in the following areas: efficiency, capacity, customer service and clients reaching their employment goal. Contributing to JobStart’s success is the unique way in which they have blended the provincially funded Job Connects Information and Resource Service with the federally funded Employment Resource Centre providing seamless services to the community.
Heather Sant, Executive Director of JobStart attended the Award Dinner at a downtown Toronto hotel with the agency’s Job Connect team where they were recognized for delivering excellent service to their clients. This award also acknowledges that JobStart has demonstrated the capacity to respond to the changing needs of our community.
JobStart is a not-for-profit, community based agency founded in 1980. For over 25 years they have provided an array of programs and services to help job seekers - youth, adults, students, newcomers to Canada, and individuals with disabilities - find and maintain employment.
JobStart also is a leader in arranging Apprenticeship opportunities and works closely with the local Apprenticeship Branch and the Toronto District School Board and their Literacy Basic Skills Program.
